Abstract

The study aims to describe the changes in the bride's dress code in Lintau Buo Utara, West Sumatra, including: Basic clothes, accessories, accessories. Qualitative descriptive method with research instruments using observation techniques, interviews, documentation with data analysis interactive analysis techniques related to the subject matter studied, regarding changes in dress code. Informants with the general chairman of the Lintau custom, the head of the kanduang bundo, the owner of the aisle and community leaders. The results of the study showed that there was a change in the form of dress code for the North Lintau Buo wedding dress, including 1). From the basic clothes, wear basiba brackets on the sides and loose sleeves, shirt length up to the knees, neckline without a collar and the front is split to the length of the chest with a size of 11 cm. The black velvet shirt is paired with a songket Balapak Clever Saik Saik motif galamai, shoots of ra Buang. Changed to modern clothes with brackets on the sides and sleeves, round necklines made of pink, red and white satin clothes paired with songket sikik with sow motifs 2). The complement of the shawl turns into a ready- to- wear character, Tengkuluak horns from tall to short. And the column slide turned into a high slide. 3).
